Mohsen Daeinabi was born in 1973 in Tehran, Iran. He received his BA in Graphics from Tehran Azad University of Art. He has been honored as the highest degree student by the “Persian Calligraphy Association” as a professional calligrapher. In over 20 years of pursuing a professional career as an artist, Daeinabi has participated in 15 individual exhibitions and 25 group exhibitions. Also, he has taught Typography at Graphics Department of Tehran Azad University.
A collection of his artistic works named “The Third Handwriting” is under publication. In the preface “Ghobad Shiva” who is one of the most famous and remarkable pioneers of Graphic Designs in Iran has written an essay regarding Daeinabi’s artistic attitudes. He declares: “For decades, our artists have created too many similar works in different artistic fields such as painting, calligraphy, typography, graphics, etc. Most of the works are all alike. The artists have used different forms of Persian letters for that reason; but few have been succeeded. In a precise look, we can observe that most of our artists use the abstraction of Persian letters vastly as forms and factors in creating such artistic works. In my opinion, we can neither find a special personality nor innovation at this time of our cultural activities; as if all the mentioned works have been created in the same workshop with different signatures. But there are still some exceptions and Mohsen Daeinabi is one of them. What he has done in his collection, “Third Handwriting” is so honest, controlled, and qualified with a new intelligent look at aesthetic forms and factors and aesthetic use of them. Finally, I should mention that having such aesthetic principles in Daeinabi’s collection makes it different and distinguished in comparison with thousands of similar works in the field of abstraction of the letters. I wish him all the best.”
Daeinabi’s personal calligraphy and Zen-calligraphy experiences have led him to a new discovery of artistic works; a new collection which is named “Samá” collection. “Samá” is a Persian word for spiritual whirling. This collection has a substructure of Iranian art presenting minimal modern art which is considered by many western art fans and is welcomed by European artistic purchaser.
Mohsen Daeinabi was born in 1973.
He lives and works in Tehran.
